Laurie Simons is a Canadian citizen by birth who was shocked at the American healthcare system when she became a US citizen. With her partner Terry Sterrenberg, she produced The Healthcare Movie to highlight the contrasts between health care systems in the two countries and to challenge the myths about the Canadian system of universal health care.

We talked about the problems with Obamacare, why we need single payer and how all of us can work for it on a state and national level. They are currently on the West Coast leg of their national tour Driving for Universal Healthcare.
